How do we translate the growing interest in green protein sources into products and solutions that succeed in the market?
Alternative proteins currently account for only a small share of the global protein market, yet expectations for future growth are significant and needed to feed the growing population. Plant-based protein sources are attracting increasing attention as part of a broader shift in how food is produced, processed and consumed.
At the same time, the pathway from potential to widespread adoption is not straightforward.
New ingredients must meet expectations for taste, functionality and nutrition. Technologies need to adapt, mature and scale. Regulatory frameworks must be explored and navigated. And perhaps most importantly, products must align with consumer preferences and purchasing behaviour to ensure a growing category.
It is within this landscape that the Green Protein Network operates.
Where opportunities and challenges are explored together
The network brings together startups, established companies and research environments working with plant-based protein sources and related technologies.
It serves as a professional forum for discussing both opportunities and constraints across the value chain from raw materials and processing technologies to product development and market positioning.
The agenda is shaped by the participants and reflects the issues that are most relevant to those working in the field. Topics typically include ingredient development, consumer insights, nutritional aspects, regulatory considerations, emerging technologies and market trends. The ambition is not only to follow developments, but to contribute to them through dialogue, shared knowledge and collaboration.

Who is the network for?
The network is relevant for startups, food producers, ingredient companies, technology providers and researchers working with plant-based proteins. It is particularly suited for innovation managers, product developers, technical specialists and decision-makers engaged in developing new protein solutions.
The network meets four times a year at host companies and partner locations across Denmark. All sessions are conducted in English.
The network is exclusively for members of Food & Bio Cluster Denmark.
As a participant, you become part of a professional environment where knowledge is shared openly, challenges are discussed with peers, and relationships potentially develop into collaborations over time. It is a space to contribute your own experience, gain new insights, and create value through exchange with others.
